What type of trips does Patagonia Andes Adventure offer?
Patagonia Andes Adventure specializes in small-group and custom adventure travel experiences throughout Chile, including kayaking expeditions, multisport adventures, hiking journeys, wildlife experiences, and tailor-made Patagonia trips.
What group sizes do you operate?
Most of our trips operate with small groups to ensure a safer, more personalized, and higher-quality experience. Group sizes vary by itinerary but are typically between 4 and 12 guests.
Are your trips suitable for beginners?
Some trips are beginner-friendly, while others require previous outdoor or kayaking experience. Each itinerary includes recommended skill and fitness levels in the trip description.
Booking & Payments
How do I reserve a trip?
A reservation is confirmed once the required deposit payment has been received and you receive written confirmation from Patagonia Andes Adventure. To confirm your reservation please email us to send you the payment information.
What payment methods do you accept?
We currently accept international bank transfers and selected digital payment methods such as Paypal, Venmo or Wise. Payment instructions will be provided during the booking process.
When is the final payment due?
Final payment is due 60 days before the trip departure date unless otherwise specified.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made more than 90 days before departure are eligible for a refund excluding the non-refundable deposit and a $250 USD administrative fee.
Cancellations within 60 days of departure are non-refundable.

Travel Logistics
Are airport transfers included?
Yes. Scheduled group transfers included in the itinerary are covered as part of the trip.
If guests experience delays, missed connections, or arrive outside the scheduled transfer times, Patagonia Andes Adventure will do its best to assist in coordinating alternative transportation whenever possible. Please note that any additional transfer costs associated with these situations are the responsibility of the guest.
Should I arrive before the trip starts?
Depending on the trip you are coming for, you might need to arrive earlier. For remote destinations such as Futaleufú, guests are required to arrive in Puerto Montt at least one day before the expedition begins to ensure smooth regional flight connections.
Kayaking Trips
What kayaking experience is required?
Our advanced kayaking expeditions generally require solid Class IV paddling experience and comfort in challenging whitewater environments.
Please review the skill requirements carefully before booking.
Do I need to bring my own kayak?
Kayaks are included on all trips. Guests need to bring all remaining kayaking equipment such as dry suits, helmets, PFDs, river shoes, and skirts.
Are safety kayakers included?
Yes. All kayaking expeditions include professional guides, safety kayakers, rescue equipment, and full river logistics.
What happens if river conditions change?
Patagonia conditions are dynamic, and itineraries may be adjusted based on water levels, weather, and safety considerations. Our guides will always choose the best available options for the group and conditions.
Accommodation & Food
What type of accommodation is included?
Accommodation varies by destination and itinerary, but we focus on comfortable Patagonia-style lodges, cabins, and unique wilderness accommodations immersed in nature.
Are meals included?
Yes. All of our trips include all meals during the itinerary, featuring fresh local ingredients and traditional Patagonia-style meals.
Can dietary restrictions be accommodated?
Yes. Please inform us of any dietary restrictions or allergies prior to departure so we can prepare accordingly.
Safety & Medical Requirements
Is travel insurance required?
Yes. Comprehensive travel and medical insurance is mandatory for all participants.
We require coverage including adventure sports and emergency evacuation.
Do I need a medical certificate?
All participants are required to submit a medical report completed at least 30 days before departure.
Will I need to sign a waiver?
Yes. All guests must sign an Assumption of Risk and Liability Waiver prior to participating in any expedition or activity.
Custom Trips
Can you organize private or custom trips?
Absolutely. We specialize in designing personalized itineraries for individuals, families, groups, photographers, filmmakers, and adventure travelers seeking unique experiences in Chile.
Can you combine multiple destinations?
Yes. We can create fully customized journeys combining destinations such as Patagonia, Pucón, Atacama, wine regions, wildlife experiences, and more.

Does Patagonia Andes Adventure support conservation?
Yes. Patagonia Andes Adventure believes in responsible tourism and actively supports conservation, environmental education, and wildlife initiatives throughout Chile.
We are committed to creating meaningful travel experiences that help protect the landscapes, ecosystems, and local communities we explore.
Our founders, Eligah Castleberry and Kendra Ivelic, are also deeply involved in the work of Fundación Acción Fauna and the Refugio Animal Cascada wildlife center — a conservation initiative focused on wildlife rehabilitation, environmental education, and rewilding projects in Chile.
